I recently worked with a small group of students at BU to produce three websites for the Camden Roundhouse. The sites are the products of the 'Visualised Audio' fund, sponsored by IdeasTap and the Roundhouse to back three groups of young producers to create audio and radio based projects with visual augmentations. The selected group produced audio and visual materials which our team turned into websites.
24 Hours at Jono's is a radio documentary about a snooker club which is reaching its final days; the website features audio playback and uses a JSON-encoded 'call-sheet' to trigger captions, videos, images, and background transitions at strategic points, all powered by Dojo JS.
Dirty Food Secrets is a collection of interviews about people's darkest food confessions, using split-screen video to accompany the audio; again, we used Dojo JS to fire up full-browser HTML5 video playback.
The third project, Concrete Songsheet, is a regular show on Roundhouse Radio featuring street musicians and buskers. The site is produced in Wordpress, and we used Leaflet.js to provide a map-based view of the buskers featured on the show, and in the live projection events.
